Danish Patent and Trademark Office works on promoting companies’ knowledge on and use of the IPR-system.

We are typically working on this in connection with various strategies developed by the Danish Government. An example is our work during the strategy "Denmark in the Global Economy" which was published in 2006. As part of this strategy we developed two initiatives; IP Marketplace and the IP Introduction Package.

We also conduct independent analyses and projects focusing on promoting use of IPR. Among other things, we currently work on developing self-help tools so companies always can get help with their work on IPR. We have for example developed the internet-based tool, IP Response, which aims to help companies with their work on IPR.

Furthermore, we work develop statistical material in the IPR-area. Since 2006 we have cooperated with Statistics Denmark on developing new knowledge on Danish companies’ use of IPR. This happens partly by joining information from Statistics Denmark on Danish companies with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office’s lists of registered IP rights, partly by sending out questionnaires to a representative segment of Danish companies focusing on their trade with knowledge. This cooperation has so far resulted in two reports in Danish.
