Singapore
Singapore's Intellectual Property Office, IPOS, was established in 1995. Until then, Singapore's patent case processing was handled in the UK due to their historical relationship. Right from the beginning, IPOS chose to have other national offices perform the work related to patents on a contractual basis. We signed a contract with Singapore in 2003 and the contract entered into force the same year. On the basis of this agreement we perform searches and examinations. Today we also perform post examinations for Singapore. The term of the contract is five years at a time.
