Danish applicants make use of PPH
The global use of Patent Prosecution Highways (PPH) is increasing as a mean for obtaining a fast-track patent granting procedure at an Office of Second Filing.
Globally, around 3,700 requests for PPH processing have been filed so far. The latest evolvement in PPH is an agreement among the trilaterals (USPTO, JPO and EPO) to include their PCT products as a basis for a PPH request.
The increasing trend has affected Danish applicants as well:
In 2009 around 25% of all Danish first filings were granted accelerated processing under PPH when subsequently filed at USPTO.
