The intentions of this partnership are:

  • Extensive information exchange
  • Mutual promotion of the IP Portal maintained by the HKTDC and IP-Marketplace by the DKPTO
  • Assist Danish and Hong Kong companies seeking to partner with each other in Asia Pacific market
  • Cooperation on events related to the promotion of intellectual property

Clearly, this strategic partnership will pave the way for a closer link between the two parties benefiting the business communities in Asia and Europe.

The HKTDC is a statutory body established in 1966, and is the international marketing arm for Hong Kong-based traders, manufacturers and service providers.  The Council’s main mission is to create opportunities for Hong Kong companies. With a network of more than 40 offices worldwide, and the city’s natural business advantages, the HKTDC provides a range of services to help global trade and promote Hong Kong as a platform for doing business with China and throughout Asia.

The HKTDC jointly organises an annual Intellectual Property anchor event, the BIP Asia along with the Hong Kong Design Centre and with the support from the Intellectual Property Department of HKSAR Government.  The event responds to Hong Kong’s emergence as a regional marketplace for intellectual property trading in everything from patent and copyright to licensing and franchising, as well as design services and technology transfer.  BIP Asia is an effective global platform that links IP owners, buyers and sellers, R&D professionals, finance and legal intermediaries, industry associations and design & technology practitioners to discuss the latest developments in the IP world.
