Israel and Denmark continues and expand its PPH program

The Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) and the Israeli Patent Office (ILPO) continue and expand its PPH pilot program commencing 5 January 2013. The pilot programs will have a duration of one year.

The extended PPH program will now include use of PPH on PCT national phase applications. Further a one-way PCT-PPH pilot program has been established enabling Israeli to request PPH processing in DKPTO based on international working products from ILPO as an international searching authority.

Under the Patent Prosecution Highway program, an applicant receiving an Office Action from the DKPTO or ILPO stating that at least one claim in a patent application has novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability may request that the other patent office fast track the examination of corresponding claims in the corresponding applications.

Similarly, under the PCT Patent Prosecution Highway program, an applicant receiving an Office Action from the ILPO acting as an international searching authority stating that at least one claim in a PCT patent application has novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability may request that the DKPTO fast track the examination of corresponding claims in the corresponding applications entering national phase in Denmark.

These Patent Prosecution Highway programs will leverage fast-track patent examination procedures at the DKPTO and ILPO to allow applicants in Denmark and Israel to obtain corresponding patents in faster and more efficiently.
