Two-Factor authentication for login
To maintain the security level in our electronic filing system, we are implementing a change on 2 November 2026. From this date, you will be required to use two-factor authentication when accessing the Danish Patent and Trademark Office's eFiling system.
When logging in, the system will present you with a QR code, which you must scan using your preferred authentication app on your mobile phone. The app will then generate a one-time code which you must enter to gain access to the system.
You will not need to use two-factor authentication every time you log in. The system allows you to choose to re-authenticate every 30 days. You can select this option the second time you log in using your authentication app.
Automatic notification before deletion of a draft application in eFiling draft
When submitting an application through eFiling, you have the option of saving the information you have entered as a draft, allowing you to complete the application at a later time. Your draft remains available in the system for 14 days.
From 2 November 2026, you will automatically receive a notification four days before a draft is due to be deleted. The notification will be sent to the email address you used to log into eFiling.
You can prevent a draft from being deleted by editing it. Once you are done editing the application, you have another 14 days to complete your application.
